Making advanced cardiovascular procedures available to a bigger group of patiënts was IITPL’s aim for the Premier series. In order to achieve this ambitious goal, DE Design and IITPL worked together to develop a cathlab with a wide range of flexibility while reducing cost of ownership and improving ergonomics.

An advanced cathlab that matches the top in the market, functionally and aesthetically
The new IITPL Premier competes with the leaders in the market. Not just in it’s capabilities but aesthetically as well. To ensure that this is well communicated we gave the Premier an high-end design without becoming too clinical. The rose-gold metal trim gives the machine a warm and approachable appearance to increase patient comfort and expose the quality of the machine.
Reducing cost of ownership
By moving the c-arm pivot point to the floor, the premier doesn’t require expensive reinforcements compared to hanging c-arms, yet allowing the same capabilities. The supply of power and data will enter the c-arm at the pivotpoint through the floor. This ensures maximum flexibility and safety since the floor will be free from cables.
Maximizing deep angle imaging
A frontal orientation of the x-ray tube maximizes the imaging angles that can be achieved, giving phicisians a better view of the patient allowing for better diagnoses and treatment.

Prototyping and Engineering
DE Design developed the premier in close collaboration with industry partners. The innovative pivot mechanism demanded inginuity and creative solutions. The resulted is an product with a minimal footprint while maintaining reliability and easy servicing.
User Interface Design
We developed a new user intereface to utilise the new freedom of movement. Great care was put into an intuitive operating experience. Directional movement was made tactile by creating recesses in the control sticks. The new design will aid the operator to fully focus on the patient and cooperation with the physician.
